On an evening in 2024, officers with the Oshkosh Police Department attempted a routine traffic stop on Highway 41. The driver refused to pull over, initiating a pursuit that would quickly spiral into chaos. This video documents the pursuit, the PIT maneuver that sent the suspect's vehicle careening down an embankment and into the water, and the desperate crisis negotiation that followed. As the car begins to float, the suspect makes a chilling decision. Body-worn camera footage shows him reaching for a firearm and pointing it at his own head, forcing officers to transition from a rescue operation to a high-stakes mental health intervention.
