On June 30th, Carlsbad police responded to a call from a gas station regarding a woman’s disorderly behavior. The suspect, intoxicated from drinking two cups of wine and upset after a disagreement with her family, initially called the police herself. However, the situation quickly escalated when she began resisting arrest and struck an officer. Identified as Alexis, the woman fought back violently, attempting to hit the officer and pulling away during the arrest. She was charged with resisting arrest and battery on an officer. Alexis later explained that her emotional distress was partly due to a longstanding family conflict, particularly with her twin sister, which fueled her frustration. Despite the tense confrontation, the officer remained calm and encouraged Alexis to communicate more openly in future interactions. The suspect remains innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Disclaimer This footage is recorded from a police body-worn camera and is shared for educational and informational purposes.
