Miami Beach Police officers attempted to stop a man after they allegedly spotted him riding an electric scooter recklessly along the beachwalk. According to an arrest report, the rider intentionally struck an officer with the scooter, knocking him to the ground, before fleeing at a high rate of speed. Police said the pursuit continued across sidewalks and roadways as he traveled against traffic and weaved between vehicles. The chase eventually reached a dead end, where the suspect lost control of the scooter but allegedly continued resisting officers. According to the report, officers deployed a stun gun multiple times before taking him into custody. He was later hospitalized, treated and released before being booked into jail.
