On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at approximately 1729 hours Police were doing extra patrols along the 300 block of Clematis St, in the city limits of West Palm Beach, county of Palm Beach, Florida, while assigned to extra off-duty by the downtown entertainment district unit. Upon arrival, the officer observed a white male lying in front of a business doorway with his eyes closed. The officer made contact with the white male, who was later identified as John, woke him up asking if he needed medical attention, which he denied. He began to become verbally aggressive to the officer and saying he knew his rights and was allowed to remain at the location. John refused to leave the property after the officer gave him lawful commands to gather his items and to leave. John refused and argued with the officer refusing to leave the property and told the officer to arrest him.
