🚨 Suspect Flees Deputies After Two Violent Break‑Ins — Franklin County, Missouri (May 17–18, 2024) Franklin County Sheriff's Office deputies were searching for Joshua Stepp after two back‑to‑back violent incidents involving the same victim. According to the felony complaint, Stepp forced his way into a residence on Highway AK on May 17, where he struck and choked the victim—someone he was previously in a relationship with. The next day, May 18, Stepp returned to the same home, broke down the back door, and continued threatening the victim—this time breaking down a closet door while she hid inside. When deputies spotted him shortly afterwards and attempted to detain him, Stepp fled. As speeds increased among highway traffic, the pursuit was called off. Stepp drove off the highway and was not found that day. A warrant was issued for his arrest. He was found two days later and charged with multiple felonies, including two counts of Burglary 1st Degree, Domestic Assault, and Felony Resisting Arrest by Fleeing, along with Driving While Revoked. He was held without bond until his sentencing 10 months later.
