Volusia County, Florida — July 14, 2025: Police responded to a parking lot after receiving a report of people loitering with open containers. When officers arrived, they observed multiple individuals with open containers and instructed them to empty their drinks and move along. An officer then observed a male seated in the driver’s seat of a pickup truck next to an open container. The male immediately exited the vehicle and claimed the drink was not his. He also denied that the truck belonged to him and refused to provide his information. The male then fled on foot but was quickly apprehended by an officer. After a brief struggle on the ground, the male was placed in handcuffs. According to the arrest information, the male was charged with battery on an officer, resisting an officer with violence, resisting an officer without violence, and open container. This police body camera footage shows the investigation, interaction with officers, foot pursuit, and subsequent arrest.
