Newly released police body camera footage shows the moments leading up to Travis Scott’s arrest in Miami Beach after an alleged disturbance on a yacht in June 2024. Officers say the rapper, whose real name is Jacques Webster, was yelling at people on the dock and on board the yacht, smelling of alcohol, and refusing to follow repeated commands to leave the marina. According to the arrest report, police initially allowed Travis Scott to walk away, but he returned minutes later, shouting obscenities and disturbing others nearby. When asked if he had been drinking, Scott replied, “It’s Miami.” Officers say he became argumentative, continued yelling, and eventually had to be restrained in handcuffs. The bodycam video shows officers confronting Scott, who claimed he rented the boat and that a misunderstanding with the owners led to the police call. A witness told officers that Scott had been “getting aggressive and pushing everyone.” Despite his protests that no fight had occurred, Scott’s behavior escalated, leading to his arrest. Scott was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and later released on a $650 bond. While prosecutors have since dropped the disorderly intoxication charge, he still faces a trespassing charge after being warned to leave.
