On September 2, 2024, at around 6:00 AM, Pullman Police Officers were called to the Taco Bell, where a 19-year-old woman was found passed out in the drive-thru lane. Officers were eventually able to get her to slightly wake up. When the fire department arrived, they were able to get the woman to start speaking. After being placed on the gurney, the woman was asked to submit to a portable breath test. The result was 0.188% BAC. She was eventually transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation. After being released from the hospital, the woman was arrested and transported to the Pullman Police Station. She submitted to an evidential breath test and the lowest reading was 0.141% BAC. She was released without charges, while officers further investigated the matter. Several days later, Taco Bell provided security footage showing the woman driving the vehicle. As a result, DUI charges were forwarded to the Whitman County Prosecutor. The case remains open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
