It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: On the evening of June 20, 2024, around 7:23 PM, Officer Ryan Champouillon of the Asbury Park Police Department responded to an accident report. The incident occurred near Fourth Avenue and Grand Avenue. He arrived to find a Ford Bronco had hit a Buick LeSabre. Officer Champouillon spoke with the Bronco's driver, Marissa Falco. He then approached the Buick's driver for information. Returning to Marissa, he noticed the smell of alcohol. He also saw signs of impairment. Marissa said she had not been drinking. However, her impairment was clear. Believing she was under the influence, the officer asked her to do field sobriety tests. The Walk and Turn test was first. During this test, Marissa did not walk heel-to-toe. She turned incorrectly. She also struggled to keep her balance. Next, she took the One Leg Stand test. Marissa did not lift her foot properly. Her counting was off. She lowered her foot before the test ended. Given the crash, the alcohol odor, and her failed tests, Marissa was arrested for DWI. Her vehicle was towed. It was held for 12 hours per John's Law. The other car had severe damage. Officer Champouillon took Marissa to the Neptune Township Police Department. There, she was read a statement for drivers. She agreed to take a breath test. Officer Richard Brogley operated the Alcotest. The results showed a blood alcohol content of 0.30%. This was nearly four times the legal limit of 0.08%. After processing, her sister picked her up. Marissa must appear in court. Officer Champouillon gave Marissa two tickets. These were for operating under the influence and careless driving. Court documents show Marissa was previously arrested for DWI in Ocean Township, New Jersey.
