On December 9, 2024, Fairfield Police Officers responded to a report of a vehicle that crashed into 2 parked cars. Sgt. Sons made contact with the 53-year-old driver of the at fault vehicle. The woman claimed she was not in possession of her driver's license and she took several minutes to unsuccessfully locate her insurance information. When asked, she admitted to coming from The Pub, a bar in Fairfield. She was asked to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. Officers had immediate concerns about the woman's ability to maintain her balance, so the tests were terminated and she was placed under arrest for Operating a Vehicle Impaired. She was transported to the Fairfield Police Station, where she submitted to a breath alcohol test. The result was 0.342% BAC, more than 4 times the legal limit. After the completion of the booking paperwork, Officer Mitchell transported the woman to the hospital for treatment. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
