Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: On November 2, 2024, around 10:48 PM, Sergeant Spencer from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office spotted a red 2016 Nissan weaving down the road. He pulled it over near Byrom Street and Park Avenue. The driver stepped out, and Sergeant Spencer learned her name was Destanie Heslar, 27 years old. While talking to her, he smelled alcohol on her breath. He also saw signs she might be impaired. Soon, Deputy Henry Hancock showed up and started a DUI check. The officers suspected she was driving drunk, so they asked her to do some roadside tests. Right then, she said she worked as a correctional officer. Deputy Hancock began with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. He noticed her eyes jerked without smooth tracking. They also showed clear shakes at the far side and started jerking before 45 degrees. Next came the Walk and Turn test. Destanie missed touching heel to toe on her steps. She turned the wrong way too. Last was the One Leg Stand test. She didn't lift her foot right. Her wild driving, the alcohol smell, her impairment clues, and her poor test results led Deputy Hancock to arrest her for DUI. Once in the patrol car, she kept saying she was a correctional officer. They took her to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office for booking. At the jail, she wouldn't give a breath sample. She faced a DUI charge under 316.193.1a.
