On December 8, 2023, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call about a single vehicle crash. The 23-year-old woman called 911 to report that she had hit a natural gas meter on her property and gas was leaking. When deputies arrived, the New Mexico Gas Company was already on scene and had turned off the gas. Deputies made contact with the woman inside her house. Her story seemed to change several times, but it appears that she woke up after taking a nap and she tried to leave in her BWM in order to go find her boyfriend. Before she even left her property, she hit the gas meter and then returned home. Deputies explained that she could be arrested for DUI, even though she was on her own private property. Once she was placed in the back of the patrol car, she went through a wide range of emotions. At the Sheriff's station, she submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.14% BAC. She was initially charged with DUI and Reckless Driving. However, 3 days later both charges were dismissed by the prosecutor.
