Officers were dispatched to a local venue after receiving a report of a fight. Upon arrival, police observed an agitated male standing outside, loudly shouting racial slurs toward the building and causing pedestrians to deviate from their normal activities. The responding officer attempted verbal de-escalation, but the individual refused to calm down or follow commands and was placed in handcuffs. Officers spoke with patrons inside and learned the suspect had previously targeted a victim with racial slurs and invited them outside to fight. During the indoor altercation, the suspect picked up a drinking glass in a threatening manner. Witnesses quickly intervened, removing the glass from the suspect's hands to prevent an assault, and helped guide him out the door before police arrived.
