On Monday, March 20, 2023, Officers assigned to Boston’s B-2 District (Roxbury), made an on-site firearms arrest of Yeltsin Gonzalez-Falcon, 31 of Roslindale, as well as Roberto Hernandez-Falcon for assault and battery on a police officer. Officers were responding to the area of 400 Blue Hill Avenue for a call of a person with a gun. They were advised of a large group of at least 50 people. In the crowd was reported to be a person in possession of a firearm. Once officers were provided a description, they were able to identify the suspect immediately. As soon as officers arrived on scene, the suspect fled on foot and a foot pursuit ensued. During the chase, officers observed the suspect throw an object under a parked vehicle. This object was confirmed to be a firearm. As officers attempted to apprehend the suspect, he resisted, and a struggle ensued. However, he was taken into custody with help from additional officers. The suspect was identified as Yeltsin Gonzalez-Falcon, 31 of Roslindale. As they were placing the first suspect under arrest, Roberto Hernandez-Falcon arrived on scene, almost running down the officers in the process. After multiple verbal commands to stop his vehicle, Roberto Hernandez-Falcon attempted to exit his vehicle by striking one of the officers and attempting to grab another officer, in the area of his gun while shouting “Did you shoot my friend?” Officers forced him back into his vehicle. However, after remaining non-compliant, he was also taken into custody after a brief struggle. Roberto Hernandez-Falcon was charged with interfering with a police officer and assault and battery on a police officer. Yeltsin Gonzalez-Falcon was arrested on firearms related charges. Both men are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
