Turn on notifications so you never miss the latest cases, shocking encounters, and legal developments featured on the channel! https://www.youtube.com/@Bodycamtestimony?sub_confirmation=1 On February 14, 2022, Heidi Royal — a 52-year-old Accounting Manager and Bill-Pay Supervisor at Homrich Berg, an SEC-registered wealth management firm in Atlanta, Georgia — pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia to one count of wire fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft after an internal review at Homrich Berg discovered that checks drawn on a client's bank accounts had been deposited directly into Royal's personal accounts. The fraud ran from June 1, 2010, through March 17, 2021 — more than a decade — during which Royal siphoned approximately $800,000 from the accounts of a single elderly victim identified in court documents only as C.K., a widow suffering from dementia who had hired the firm specifically because she could no longer manage her own bills. Royal wrote checks payable to herself from C.K.'s accounts, and used C.K.'s name and Social Security number — credentials entrusted to Royal for legitimate accounting purposes — to open a covert private bank account in the client's own name to conceal the fraudulent proceeds. The case was investigated by the FBI Atlanta Field Office and prosecuted by the Department of Justice Transnational Elder Fraud Strike Force. C.K., who could not track her own finances and had no one else watching the accounts on her behalf, lost her life savings to the woman she believed was managing them for her.
