Trooper's Report: On September 30th, 2025, approximately 10:40PM, I, Trooper William Roark #502, was notified by Troop A Communications that the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) was in pursuit of a white Cadillac, later identified as a White Cadillac Escalade displaying AR 390XUE (V1), on Interstate 430 south at the 5 mile marker. I joined the pursuit on Interstate 430 south just north of the 4 mile marker, behind two LRPD units. V1 took the Colonel Glenn exit and traveled west, then north onto S Bowman Rd. V1 then ran off the right side of the roadway and recovered, continuing to travel north on S Bowman Rd. Near the Bowman Pointe Apartments I became the primary unit in the pursuit. As I approached V1 on the passenger side to get in position for a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI), V1 suddenly braked and came to a stop on the left shoulder near the Bowman Point Apartments. V1 then began to reverse at which point I drove my pit bumper into the right side of V1 to pin the vehicle in place. The driver of V1, later identified as Kendrick Akins fled on foot, traveling north-west into a wooded area, west of S Bowman Rd. Two LRPD Officers and I pursued Mr. Akins on foot and located him lying face down in an attempt to hide. Mr. Akins was then taken into custody without further incident and transferred to Officer B. Forrester with LRPD, who was the initiating Officer. A backpack carried by Mr. Akins was recovered by LRPD and was found to have felony narcotics inside. Mr. Akins was charged with the following: 5-64-440(c)(2) - TRAFFICKING IN FENTANYL 5-64-443(a)(1) - POSSESS DRUG PARAPHERNALIA 5-74-105 - PROPERTY, UNAUTHORIZED USE OF 5-64-424 - POSSESS W PURPOSE DEL CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE SCHED I 5-64-424 - POSSESS W PURPOSE DEL CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE SCHED II 5-64-436 - POSSESS W PURPOSE DEL CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE SCHED VI 5-54-125 - FLEEING - FELONY - VEHICLE OR CONVEYANCE - EXCEEDING SPEED LIMIT - EXIT FLEE ON FOOT 27-50-308 - RECKLESS DRIVING - 1ST 27-37-306 - DRIVING VEHICLE IMPROPER WINDOW TINTING 27-14-716 - IMPROPER DISPLAY OF LICENSE TAGS Trp.
