A 2020 Hyundai Accent hit a parked 2013 Toyota Rav4. This happened on a neighborhood street. The Hyundai driver was Sofia, age 21. The Rav4 owner slept inside her house. Sofia said she was going home from work. First responders checked Sofia. She did not need more medical help. Officers Castellanos and Griffin came. Lieutenant Sudol also arrived. They spoke with a man in the house. He said his sister owned the Rav4. Officers asked Sofia if she drank. She admitted to having alcohol earlier. The officers suspected she was impaired. They asked Sofia to do some tests. The first test was the Walk and Turn. Sofia did not step heel-to-toe. She also did not count out loud. Next was the One Leg Stand test. Sofia did not lift her foot correctly. She also did not count properly. The last test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus. Officer Brady arrested Sofia. This was due to the crash. She admitted to drinking alcohol. She also failed the sobriety tests. Sofia was charged with drunk driving. John's Law meant her car was held for 12 hours. Officer Brady took Sofia to the Elmwood Park Police Department. At the station, Sofia heard the rules. She agreed to provide breath samples. She was taken to Fair Lawn PD. There, she took a breathalyzer test. Her BAC was 0.20%. This was more than double the legal limit. Sofia then returned to Elmwood Park PD. A sober adult took her home. He signed paperwork for her. Sofia got tickets for several violations. These included DUI, underage DUI, reckless driving, careless driving, and failing to stay in her lane. 2:00 why is there a little 13 yo boy in a damn police uniform?
