On November 2, 2024, Pullman Police Officer Stalnaker observed a vehicle run through a red light. She initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 43-year-old woman. The woman admitted coming from dinner in Spokane (75 miles away), where she stated she consumed 1 mixed drink. She was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which she reluctantly agreed to. At the conclusion of the tests, she was asked to submit to a voluntary portable breath test (PBT), which she declined. She was then placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence. While sitting in the Pullman brown chair, the woman was given the opportunity to submit to an evidential breath test.
