On November 20, 2022, Oxford Police Officer Thissen initiated a traffic stop on a Jeep Patriot that was driving with no headlights on. The 20 year-old woman driving the vehicle explained that she did not have any ID with her. Officer Thissen advised her that he smelled alcohol emitting from the vehicle and he asked her to step out of the vehicle to perform standardized field sobriety tests (FSTs). She was eventually arrested for DUI. There is extensive footage taken from inside of the police station. The driver refuses to submit to an evidentiary breath test (EBT). While Officer Thissen is preparing her traffic citation, she insinuates that the whole traffic stop was a waste of time. Her and the officer banter back and forth several times throughout the video. As a student attending Miami University (in Oxford, Ohio), she had no family in the immediate area to come and pick her up. Therefore, Officer Thissen eventually gives her a ride home. The outcome of her charges are discussed at the end of the video.
