[Real Bodycam Breakdown] On September 12, 2023, around 9:30 PM, Atlanta Police responded to an ongoing domestic disturbance at 4050 Wendell Drive—an address that officers know all too well. The same couple, the same drama, but this time with a twist: one suspect was taken into custody while still in the shower. Upon arrival, Officer Jovan Johnson encountered Latrenda Powell, visibly emotional, seated on the bed with a head injury consistent with being struck by a blunt object—specifically, a liquor bottle. According to Powell, the altercation began with shouting between her and her girlfriend, Temeka President, and escalated into a violent physical fight. Powell claimed self-defense, stating she “had to return fire with a two-piece and a biscuit.” The apartment showed signs of a serious domestic altercation—blood on the walls, overturned furniture, and sheets that looked like they’d been through a UFC match. Neighbors, already familiar with the couple’s volatile dynamic, told dispatch they feared someone might “come through the drywall.” Temeka President, despite being previously banned from the property by the landlord, was found hiding—in the shower—where officers ultimately placed her under arrest mid-rinse, wrapped in a towel and still combative. This marks yet another chapter in the saga of what many are calling Atlanta’s most dysfunctional couple—a relationship marked by frequent 911 calls, physical altercations, and public meltdowns. Previous reports include Temeka being found lying in the road at 3AM attempting to get hit by traffic. Viewer Advisory: Contains real bodycam footage, adult language, and descriptions of violence.
