-Dundalk, MD. -May 18, 2025. WBFF) — The Maryland Office of the Attorney General's Independent Investigations Division (IID) released body-worn camera footage on Wednesday from a deadly police-involved shooting that occurred in Dundalk back in May. According to the IID, the shooting resulted in the death of 43-year-old Glenn Pettie, Jr., a resident of Dundalk. Authorities say that at approximately 7:30 p.m. on May 18, two Baltimore County police officers responded to the 8200 block of North Boundary Road for a 911 call reporting a mental health crisis. One officer spoke with the 911 caller and proceeded to the alley behind the home while the other officer remained at the front door. There, he encountered a man, later identified as Pettie, in the alley matching the caller’s description. Investigators report that Pettie opened fire on the officer. The officer returned fire, and Pettie was struck during the exchange. Officers at the scene rendered medical aid until emergency medical services arrived. Pettie was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A loaded handgun was recovered near his body. No officers were injured during the incident.
