On Thursday, March 14, 2024, an officer with a police department in Illinois initiated a traffic stop on a silver vehicle after discovering its registration was suspended. The male driver admitted he did not have a valid driver's license or insurance and was taken into custody without incident. While the officer was processing the arrest, a female identified as the suspect's girlfriend arrived at the scene. Despite receiving multiple verbal commands not to touch the vehicle, the girlfriend attempted to reach inside the car to retrieve items. When the officer physically intervened to remove her from the driver’s door, she became combative and verbally aggressive. She was handcuffed and a subsequent check revealed she had an active warrant. She was charged with Obstruction, while the original driver was charged with Driving with No Valid License and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.
