On 05/21/2022 at approximately 1732 hours, I, Officer West, responded to a domestic dispute at [Redacted]. Upon arrival, I made contact with the complainant, Ms. Joslyn Wortham, who advised she and her boyfriend, Mr. Antario Harris, were having a heated argument. Ms. Wortham explained that earlier that day, she informed Mr. Harris that she was planning to visit her family and possibly stay overnight at her brother’s house. According to Ms. Wortham, Mr. Harris became upset, expressing he didn’t want her to stay at her brother’s house and preferred she come home to spend time with him instead. She clarified that since her family was moving further away, she wanted to take the opportunity to spend time with them. The argument escalated once they parted ways for the day, continuing via text messages. While Ms. Wortham was with her family, Mr. Harris texted her, saying it was okay for her to stay at her brother’s house. Ms. Wortham, however, became suspicious of this sudden change of heart, suspecting that Mr. Harris might be planning to see another woman, due to previous infidelities. According to Ms. Wortham, she confronted him about it, and he responded by disrespecting her, calling her a "bitch" via text. Upon arriving home, Ms. Wortham explained she threw her belongings onto the floor and confronted Mr. Harris. She stated that when she approached him, she physically pushed him. Ms. Wortham claimed that Mr. Harris then pushed her back and began to hit her. Feeling struck, Ms. Wortham contacted 911. I then spoke with Mr. Antario Harris, who corroborated part of the events but offered a different perspective. He stated that earlier in the day, Ms. Wortham had informed him she was going to visit her family and possibly stay overnight at her brother's house. Mr. Harris admitted that he was upset because Ms. Wortham had previously complained they didn’t spend enough time together, so he wanted her to stay home. However, he stated that while they were arguing via text, he eventually told her it was fine if she stayed at her brother’s house, under the condition that they would spend time together the following Sunday. Mr. Harris explained that after Ms. Wortham left, their argument continued over the phone, and they exchanged profane language. He added that Ms. Wortham accused him of cheating, which he attributed to his past infidelities. Mr. Harris also stated that after returning home from his mother’s house, Ms. Wortham confronted him aggressively upon entering the apartment, pushing him. He said he tried to deescalate the situation by walking away, but Ms. Wortham began throwing objects around the apartment, threatening to destroy his clothes. Mr. Harris emphatically stated that he never put his hands on Ms. Wortham. Both parties confirmed that they had been in a relationship and living together for over a year. After reviewing the statements and evidence, I determined that Ms. Joslyn Wortham was the primary aggressor in this incident. As a result, Ms. Wortham was placed under arrest for Simple Battery. I ensured the handcuffs were properly applied, checking the spacing and ensuring they were double-locked. A search incident to arrest was conducted, and after the search, Ms. Wortham was placed in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle. I consulted with the judge and obtained a warrant for Ms. Wortham (WNO: EW-0365320). She was then transported to Fulton County Jail without further incident.#DomesticDisturbance #SimpleBattery #RelationshipDrama #bodycam #TextingWar #FamilyBBQFiasco #SuspiciousBehavior #CaughtInTheCrossfire #police
