Know your rights before police decide not to hear you. 📄 Resources, PDFs & support 👉 linktr.ee/ThinBlueLiesMedia A confrontation between a Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office deputy and a juvenile is now under investigation after body camera footage captured a moment that’s raising serious questions. Deputies say the juvenile had already injured multiple officers before being placed in the back of a patrol vehicle. She was handcuffed behind her back when Deputy Bryan Lassley began documenting injuries. Moments later, the situation escalates. Bodycam video appears to show Lassley forcing the juvenile down inside the patrol car. The juvenile can be heard saying “Ow” and later claims her head was hit. When questioned, Lassley described the force as “minimal,” stating he “forced her back down” and used “just enough to hit the floorboard.” Sheriff John Allen has since said that if a deputy cannot maintain composure under stress, they do not belong in law enforcement—and confirmed he is moving forward with termination proceedings. However, Lassley has not been fired, and Internal Affairs is still reviewing the case. Officials also confirmed that other deputies involved are not currently under investigation. This is not the first time Lassley has faced scrutiny. In 2024, investigators say he was driving roughly 70 mph in a 25 mph zone prior to a crash that was later classified as reckless driving. No criminal charges were filed, and a lawsuit was later brought by the other party involved. So what actually happened here? Was the force justified based on the situation… or does this cross a line—especially considering the juvenile was restrained? And at what point does accountability move beyond statements—and turn into action? 👇 Share your thoughts below. 👍 Like 💬 Comment 📢 Share 🔔 Subscribe 👉 linktr.ee/ThinBlueLiesMedia 👀 Thin Blue Lies, Baby! #police #bodycam #policeaccountability #civilrights #lawenforcement #news #truecrime #policevideo #useofforce #investigation
