On January 13, 2022, Montvale Police Officer Lamendola observed a vehicle speeding and almost hit the center median. When the 28-year-old woman finally stopped her vehicle, she immediately admitted to consuming alcohol while out with friends. Officer Lamendola asked the woman to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. Upon the conclusion of the tests, she was placed in handcuffs and arrested for DUI. However, the woman refused to sit down with her legs inside the back of the police car. As a result, she picked up a resisting arrest charge while screaming profanities and dropping the name of a U.S. Secret Service agent. The police report indicates she submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.14% BAC. She was charged with (1) Driving While Intoxicated; (2) Reckless Driving; (3) Careless Driving; (4) Failure to Maintain Lanes; (5) Failure to Stop for an Emergency Vehicle; and (6) Resisting Arrest. On December 20, 2023, she pled guilty to the Driving While Intoxicated charge. The other 5 charges were dismissed. She was fined $640 plus court costs, ordered to spend 12 hours at an Intoxicated Driver's Resource Center, and install an Ignition Interlock Device on her vehicle for 3 months.
