** (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) ** Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson has ordered an internal review of a five-year-old case in which police officers wound a female suspect before taking her down. Johnson also ordered the release of dash-cam video of the May 2011 incident. According to police, it concerns a police chase of a suspected female robber on the West Side of Chicago. Two convicted felons were involved in an armed robbery spree that ended with the suspects attempting to run over police. The officers subsequently shot and wounded the female suspect, CBS 2’s Dorothy Tucker reports. Every other dash-cam video showing police use of force has been released following a lawsuit or public documents request. Not this one. Johnson saw the video just one day after he was sworn in as he began reviewing cases of police force. He told Chicago Police Department internal affairs he wanted the case re-investigated. Two officers involved in the encounter have been stripped of their police powers. In a statement, Supt. Johnson said releasing the video was part of his pledge to “rebuild trust between CPD and the community.” Donate to PoliceActivity: https://www.patreon.com/PoliceActivity Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PoliceActivity Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Police_Activity
