On May 2, 2024. A deputy from the Columbia County Sheriff's Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after he clocked the driver (Bailey) going 121 MPH. When the Deputy approached the vehicle, he noticed 6 open alcohol containers inside of the truck. The driver initially claimed to only have had one drink but later said that he had three. Bailey agreed to do field sobriety tests but said that he wanted his lawyer while doing the tests and refused a breathalyzer. He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw before being taken to jail. The suspect was arrested and charged with Exceeding Speed Zones, (45+ MPH), Operating While Intoxicated, and Refuse to Take Test for Intoxication After Arrest. This case is still pending.
