On April 6, 2026, California Highway Patrol officers stopped a gray Honda Accord traveling on Whittier Boulevard in East Los Angeles after observing it driving with its rear taillights not operating. The driver did not have a valid driver’s license and presented a Mexican Consulate identification card. Officers also seen an open alcoholic container on the passenger-side floorboard and observing red, watery eyes, slurred speech and the odor of alcohol. During the DUI investigation, CHP officers reported the preliminary breath-test results of 0.228% and 0.214%. Later Chemical breath tests produced results of 0.19% and 0.20%. The driver was arrested and booked at the Los Angeles Sheriff's east Los Angeles Station on the following charges: C23152(A) - DUI Alcohol/Drugs 23152(B) - DUI Alcohol W/BAC Above .08 23578 - Excessive Blood Alcohol 12500(A) - Drive W/O License California Highway Patrol Officers Involved: Officer J.
