The officer quickly made contact with the intoxicated girl, identified as Melina, who tried to excuse her behavior by claiming she was just coming from styling hair at a local wedding. However, the strong odor of alcohol told a different story. The suspect admitted to drinking but spectacularly failed a simple alphabet test and stumbled through multiple field sobriety exercises. Following her refusal to provide breath samples at the station, the officer officially charged her with driving under the influence and failure to use lighted lamps. Her bad decisions ultimately led to a guilty plea, hefty fines, mandatory resource center classes, and a strict court order requiring her to use an ignition interlock device to drive. What started as a careless drive home from a wedding ends in handcuffs and instant regret—caught entirely on camera.
