On February 24, 2024, in Barstow California, a Highway Patrol officer encountered an intoxicated driver that had just abandoned his Toyota 4-runner in the median on interstate 15 just north of L street. The Driver was placed under arrest for suspicion of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. The officer transported him to the Barstow Area Office to complete paperwork and obtain a chemical test sample.
