On October 8, 2022, Sheboygan Police Officers were dispatched to a single vehicle traffic collision, where a car had hit a tree and was on fire. When the first officer arrived, frantic witnesses told him that an unconscious woman was trapped in the burning vehicle. Officer Strzyzewski was able to quickly extract the 22-year-old woman from the vehicle. When paramedics began to treat her, the woman allegedly admitted to consuming 6 beers earlier that evening. Due to the nature of her injuries, she was taken by ambulance to a helipad, where she was airlifted to a nearby trauma center. Before being loaded onto the helicopter, a legal blood draw was performed. The police report indicates her blood alcohol concentration was 0.153%. She was subsequently mailed a citation for 1st offense Operating While Intoxicated (OWI), which is not a criminal offense in Wisconsin.
