On March 30, 2024, Seminole County Sheriff's Deputy Marshall stopped a vehicle for speeding. The vehicle was being driven by a 34-year-old woman. The woman did not have the registration for the vehicle, which prompted Deputy Marshall to investigate the temporary Texas tag on the rear of the vehicle. Deputy Marshall suspected that the woman had printed her own temporary tag and affixed it to the vehicle in order to avoid properly registering her vehicle. When the woman was questioned about her registration she became belligerent and obnoxious. She refused to sign for a citation, so she was eventually placed under arrest. She was charged with (1) Failing to Register a Vehicle; (2) Driving With a Non Assigned License Plate; and (3) Resisting Without Violence. She eventually entered a diversion program where she was fined, ordered to perform community service, and write a letter of apology to Deputy Marshall.
