An officer-involved shooting Saturday morning is under investigation, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department. According to a social media post on X, department officials confirmed police received reports of the shooting at the 5900 block of Constitution Avenue just after 4 a.m. The shooting followed a police encounter with at least two suspects in a stolen vehicle who were believed to be involved in at least two carjacking attempts overnight, CSPD said. According to police, at least one person has been hospitalized. CSPD's Major Crimes Unit began initial investigative efforts Saturday. An investigation by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office will follow. Investigators worked to process the scene Saturday morning. A mask, gun and backpack could be seen surrounding the suspect vehicle, which appeared to have swerved into the left lane before crashing into a median in front of a Circle K gas station.
