Arkansas State Trooper Stops Tesla Cybertruck — Driver Faces Multiple Charges An Arkansas State Police traffic stop involving a Tesla Cybertruck on September 30, 2026, reportedly led to multiple charges against 33-year-old Derrizja Tavar Wells. According to the trooper’s report, the incident happened around 11:54 p.m. after the trooper observed the Cybertruck roll through a stop sign, merge onto I-40 without signaling, and cross the yellow fog line while navigating a curve toward I-30 west. During the stop, the trooper reported smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle and said Wells was unable to produce his driver’s license. The report also states that Wells initially refused commands to exit the vehicle and reached toward his lower back, prompting the trooper to order him out at gunpoint. A subsequent vehicle search reportedly uncovered a small amount of suspected marijuana beneath the front passenger seat. The trooper also reported finding marijuana residue in the patrol car and reviewing camera footage that allegedly showed Wells eating a substance while seated in the back. The report further states that a large amount of cash was found inside the Cybertruck’s locked glove compartment. After Wells declined to provide the access code, the trooper used a pry-bar-type tool to open the compartment. The cash was transported to the jail and counted before being placed with Wells’ property.
