On Tuesday, July 19, 2022, deputies with a Florida sheriff's office responded to reports of a reckless driver in a red sedan that had struck a concrete median and blown a tire. Deputies located the vehicle at a gas station, where they encountered the female driver. The suspect admitted there was "alcohol involved" in her day and that she had consumed wine prior to driving. Throughout the interaction, the driver was verbally abusive, using profanity toward the deputies, and refused to comply with requests for her driver’s license or field sobriety exercises. When deputies moved to arrest her, she physically resisted by tensing her body and attempting to kick an officer. Her combative behavior continued at the local jail, where she eventually had to be secured in a restraint chair. The suspect was charged with DUI and Resisting Arrest Without Violence.
