A former Englewood, Colorado police officer has been fired and arrested after bodycam video showed him tasing a driver and putting him in a banned chokehold… all because the man didn’t speak English. The driver was calm, compliant, and repeatedly said he didn’t understand. But instead of getting a translator or using basic communication, Officer Ryan Scott Vasina escalated instantly — dragging him out of the car and choking him for 12 seconds. Prosecutors reviewed the footage and charged him with: Second-Degree Assault (felony) Third-Degree Assault First-Degree Official Misconduct A language barrier is NOT resistance. Confusion is NOT a crime. And chokeholds are illegal in Colorado. 📹 When the people film, the system shakes.
