Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At about 10:58 p.m. on January 25, 2024, Wauconda Police Officer Jonathan Finze spotted a white Hyundai on Route 12. Near N Old Rand Road, it swerved and drove onto the northbound shoulder. The car continued veering off the road near Case Road, so Finze pulled it over. The driver stopped on the shoulder. Finze spoke with Savanna Anderson, who said she was heading home after trivia night in Lake Zurich. She told him she had consumed three alcoholic drinks. Suspecting she was impaired, Finze asked Officer Donna Zorbas to assist. He asked Anderson to take a breath test, but she refused. She agreed to step out and perform field sobriety tests. During the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test, Finze noted all six signs of impairment. Anderson struggled with the One Leg Stand, and it took her 30 seconds to count to 20. On the Walk and Turn, she missed the heel-to-toe steps, made an incorrect turn, and raised her arms for balance. She completed the final test, reciting the alphabet from F to U without stopping. Finze offered another breath test after the field tests. Anderson refused again, and he arrested her for driving under the influence. He cited the smell of alcohol, her signs of impairment, her admission that she had been drinking, and her poor performance on the tests. Officers handcuffed her, placed her in the patrol car, and took her to the Wauconda Police Department. They later found open containers in her vehicle. At the station, Anderson was read the Warning to Motorist and agreed to give breath samples. The test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.148%, above the legal limit of 0.08%. After processing, she was released to her husband and given court summonses.
