On April 16th, 2025, loss-prevention at a Florida Dillard’s caught a woman trying to steal over $1,000 worth of swimsuits by ripping off the tags and hiding the pieces in her bag and under her clothes. When confronted, she cycled through excuses—claiming the tags “just fell off,” blaming a “rude” employee, and pretending to be the victim. After being cuffed, her act collapsed as the stolen swimsuit pieces literally fell out from under her clothing. She was ultimately charged with retail theft.
