It eventually turned into the Rally's parking lot. Multiple EPD squad cars followed. As officers began to climb from their vehicles, two Black males reportedly got out of the car and ran. The driver, a juvenile, was later found on the roof of Joshua Academy charter school and taken into custody, police wrote in a report to the media early Monday. He hasn't been publicly identified. Chew was reportedly the passenger. According to the affidavit, he ran across the street to a nearby gas station and approached a black SUV with the driver sitting inside of it. "Chew came up to the vehicle and demanded that (the owner) give (him) the vehicle," the affidavit states. "Chew pointed a firearm at (the owner), but she was able to get out of the SUV." At least one struck Taylor. EPD played footage from multiple officers' body cameras on Monday. In Taylor's, a man police identified as Chew can be seen turning toward Taylor as the owner of the SUV attempts to run away. He holds a gun in his hand. Shots ring out, and Taylor falls to the concrete. According to Smith, Taylor never had a chance to draw his weapon. Chew continued to fire before finding cover.
