BRYAN COUNTY, GEORGIA — Deputies attempted a traffic stop on a white 2016 BMW M3 after clocking it at 72 mph in a 45 zone. Instead of stopping, the driver fled westbound on Highway 144 at speeds over 100 mph. The BMW weaved through traffic, drove into oncoming lanes, forced other vehicles off the roadway, and reached speeds of 120 mph on Harris Trail. While navigating S-curves near Great Ogeechee Road, the BMW lost traction and collided with a 2023 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Miss. M. Stevens. Deputies extracted Stevens from her vehicle, and she was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment. The BMW caught fire after striking trees, and the driver — identified as 19-year-old Jimmy — was pronounced deceased at the scene.
