On May 30, 2023, at approximately 9:30 AM, an officer was called to the women's bathroom at a Marina due to a person who was refusing to leave the premises. Upon arrival, security informed the officer that the individual had used a keycard to access the bathroom the previous night at 9:00 PM and had remained inside since then. The bathrooms are restricted to authorized personnel only and can be accessed using personalized keycards. Following recent incidents, the bathrooms are now closed between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM. The dockmaster, who only knew the individual as "Chelsea," had already deactivated her keycard. The officer knocked on the locked door of the stall where the individual was located and requested her to exit. Despite multiple opportunities given, She refused to comply, leading the staff to unlock the stall using a key. The officer informed her that she was no longer permitted to use the facilities and requested her information for documentation purposes, but she refused to provide any details. Additional officers attempted to place her in handcuffs due to her resistance, but she continued to resist until eventually being restrained and transported to the County Detention Center without further incident.
