Police Officer Are You Married? | New Wife New Life On Wednesday March 9, 2022 at approximately 2253 hours, I, Officer Lafave, was on duty in full uniform displaying my badge of office, and in a marked NMSP patrol vehicle within the County of Bernalillo State of New Mexico. At this time, I was traveling west on Interstate 40 between Rio Grande and Coors Blvd. when I observed a vehicle weaving within its lane. I also observed the vehicle's tires drive on and over the painted lane divider and did not indicate a lane change. I pulled directly behind this vehicle, I activated my emergency equipment and conducted a traffic stop. I exited my patrol car and made contact with the female driver and asked Defendant to provide me her driver's license, registration and insurance. Defendant provided me her Driver's License and vehicle insurance. While speaking with Defendant I smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage from Defendant and/or vehicle; Defendants eyes were bloodshot and watery. I asked Defendant to exit this vehicle where I explained the reason for the stop. While outside of this vehicle I continued to smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath as she spoke.
