In the Florida Keys, a routine Coast Guard patrol turns into a high-stakes drug bust. After spotting a suspicious vessel, a U.S. Coast Guard cutter and its tactical team begin a high-speed chase. The smugglers will do anything to evade capture, including throwing bales of cocaine overboard and using dangerous, evasive maneuvers that put their own lives at risk. The pursuit ends in a tense, chaotic boarding where the crew must secure the vessel and its non-compliant passengers. This documentary also follows a second, separate mission as a Coast Guard team responds to a report of a plane crash in the Florida Keys. The crew quickly moves from a search for survivors to a difficult recovery mission after they find two people who didn't survive the crash. Watch how the brave men and women of the Coast Guard balance the dangerous world of law enforcement with the emotional reality of search and rescue to keep our coasts safe.
