🚨 A traffic checkpoint turned into a full-on crash scene in Clayton County! On December 4th, 2024, deputies conducting a road safety check watched as a white Hyundai Elantra suddenly bolted from the stop. The driver, Karjuan Eugene Hampton, took off at over 80 mph in a 40 mph zone, driving on the wrong side of the road, cutting through gas station lots, and showing zero concern for anyone around. Eventually, Hampton lost control and flipped the Hyundai into a ditch, landing in someone’s front yard. Neither he nor his passenger, Shawn Michael Gatlin, was wearing a seat belt — both hit the windshield during the crash. After the wreck, deputies found around 46 grams of marijuana individually packaged for sale, tossed out during the pursuit.
