The date was January 27, 2025. He turned on his lights. The stop was at 401 Monroe Street. The driver was Lizabeth Bolinger. Guido saw Lizabeth’s eyes were shiny. Her talking was slurred. She said she was coming from a friend's house. Officers Ricky Truppner and Jaydan Gonzalez arrived. They thought she might be impaired. Truppner asked Lizabeth to get out. He wanted her to do sobriety tests. Truppner started with the HGN test. Then came the Walk and Turn test. Lizabeth did not step heel-to-toe. She took the wrong number of steps. She would not do the One Leg Stand test. Lizabeth was stopped for a traffic violation. She seemed impaired. She refused to do the tests right. So, Lizabeth was arrested. She was charged with DUI. Her car was towed. It was held for 12 hours. This was under John’s Law. The officers took Lizabeth to the police station. At the station, Lizabeth heard the Standard Statement. She refused to give breath samples. The officers finished their reports. A sober adult signed a warning form. Lizabeth was then released to them.
