On July 28, 2026, California Highway Patrol officers conducting traffic enforcement in the Los Angeles area observed a Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officers attempted a traffic stop, but the rider accelerated and refused to pull over. The motorcycle pursuit continued through city streets and freeway ramps, reaching speeds over 130 MPH, red-light violations, and dangerous driving maneuvers. The chase eventually reached the northbound Interstate 405 off-ramp at Burbank Boulevard, where the motorcyclist entered the ramp traveling against traffic. According to the CHP collision investigation, a pursuing patrol vehicle moved ahead of the motorcycle in an attempt to restrict the rider's path. The motorcycle subsequently collided with the patrol car, ejecting the rider onto the roadway. CHP officers immediately stopped and provided medical assistance.
