Deputies in Thurston County, Washington, were already chasing a suspected retail theft crew when the case turned into something much bigger. The truck took off at high speed, ran red lights, and pushed the pursuit through city streets before deputies later found it abandoned in a neighborhood. Then came the part that made the arrest even crazier. According to police, this was the driver’s 98th arrest. He was also described as a four-time convicted felon with 27 misdemeanor convictions and 97 prior arrests. When deputies searched the truck, they said they found thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise, plus meth, heroin, fentanyl, and a custom bong device built into the dashboard. What started as a theft call ended with a chase, a K-9 search, and another arrest added to a long record.
