Bodycam footage from Athens-Clarke County, Georgia, shows police responding to a shooting at the home of 26-year-old Heather Nicole McCall. Officers arrived to find 31-year-old Jeremy Howard suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen after McCall allegedly shot him during a domestic dispute. McCall, who was pregnant with Howard's child, told police the shooting was accidental and that she was only trying to scare Howard away after he entered her home uninvited on Nowhere Road. According to McCall, she and Howard had a history of domestic violence and had recently broken up after an argument where he allegedly assaulted her. She claims she grabbed a handgun to make him leave, not realizing it was loaded, and accidentally pulled the trigger. Howard was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. During the investigation, officers discovered drug paraphernalia and multiple firearms inside the residence. McCall was initially cooperative but became distraught when detectives informed her that Howard had died. She was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct. Court records show McCall later pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to four years in prison, followed by six years of probation.
