Trooper T. Tatum (F-25) attempts to stop a speeding Jeep Renegade, the subject flees. The chase is brought to an end after 3 TVI attempts. Report: On January 23, 2025, at approximately 11:27 a.m., I was conducting a routine patrol westbound on U.S. Highway 82, just outside the city limits of Strong. I observed a red Jeep Renegade (LA-LPN: 959 FYH) approaching at a speed that appeared to exceed the posted 55 mph limit. Utilizing radar, I confirmed the vehicle's speed to be 70 mph. I subsequently activated my emergency lights and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle initially slowed but then accelerated away. I activated my siren and notified dispatch that the vehicle had failed to stop. The vehicle continued into the city of Strong, where it maintained excessive speeds. I then notified dispatch that I was in pursuit of the vehicle. The vehicle proceeded south on State Highway 129 towards Huttig and the Louisiana state line. Speeds continued to increase significantly, exceeding 75 mph within the Strong School Zone. The vehicle reached speeds approaching 100 mph before attempting a right turn onto Oakland Road (State Highway 275). A Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) maneuver was attempted at the intersection but was unsuccessful. A second attempt to stop the vehicle was made, again without success. As the vehicle accelerated on the straightaway of Highway 275, a third TVI maneuver was conducted, resulting in the successful immobilization of the vehicle. The male driver was observed exiting the vehicle through the windshield and fleeing on foot in a southwesterly direction towards Highway 129. Verbal commands to stop were issued, but the driver disregarded them and continued to flee. A female passenger, identified as Makalen Loyd (DOB 8/18/1998), was located within the vehicle. Ms. Loyd stated she was the driver's girlfriend and identified him as Dalijah Dewayne Traylor. Ms. Loyd was transported to South Arkansas Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. An inventory of the vehicle revealed a black leather wallet in the driver's door panel. The wallet contained several items, including a social security card and a Louisiana identification card belonging to Dalijah Traylor. An ACIC/NCIC check (Redacted) A search of the area for Mr. Traylor was conducted but was unsuccessful. A warrant was subsequently issued for the arrest of Dalijah Dewayne Traylor on the following charges: Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle - Felony Assault in the Second Degree - Misdemeanor Speeding Driving Without a License #arkansas #arkansasstatepolice #pitmaneuver #crash #news #policechase #dashcam
