It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: At about 11:10 PM on April 7, 2025, Officers Matthew Bonnano and John Rodriguez from the Hoboken Police Department were patrolling near Sixth Street and Harrison Street. They saw a Honda hit a parked car on Sixth Street. The Honda had heavy damage to the front on the passenger side. The officers called dispatch and approached the driver and the passengers. When Officer Bonnano spoke with the occupants, he immediately smelled alcohol. The driver was identified as Jackeline Fuentesluna. She was asked to step out of the vehicle. Officer Bonnano asked her how much she had drunk. She said she had two drinks that evening. Because they suspected she was drunk, she was asked to do field sobriety tests. Sergeant Miller and another officer arrived to help. The first test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN). The second was the Walk and Turn test. Jackeline did not understand the instructions and could not finish the tests. The crash, her admission to drinking, and her poor performance on the tests led to her arrest for drunk driving. Inside her car, officers found several open containers. Her vehicle was towed and kept for 12 hours, as required by John’s Law. Officer Kanan searched her car before she was put in the police car. She later told the officers she and Jackeline went to high school together. Officers took Jackeline to the Hoboken Police Department. She was read the rights for drivers but refused to give breath samples. She was eventually released to a sober adult to go to court. That person signed a warning form for her. Jackeline received tickets for DUI, refusing a chemical test, reckless driving, not having proof of insurance, open container, and driving on a probationary license after 11:01 PM.
